Your Furnishings Fuel Fresh Starts

For a family or individual transitioning into new housing following a period of displacement, the cost to furnish their new space can be staggering. The financial strain can be debilitating and completely destructive to a person’s progress until that point.

Our outreach not only provides household essentials, but it also alleviates crippling financial burdens & bolsters self-confidence along a person’s path towards self-sufficiency.

We transform empty houses into homes equipped to sustain bigger dreams for children & brighter futures for families in Wake County and beyond.

Your Furniture Donation Makes An Impact

3.3

97

This is the percentage of families who reported feeling less stressed and more hopeful after receiving furnishings through Green Chair.

2,450

This is how many total furniture transports our Green Chair team successfully executed in 2022 alone.

475

This is the amount in metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions we offset annually by reusing furnishings donated by our community.

Here's How It Works

All donated furnishings & home essentials are carefully evaluated before being allocated to either our client-facing Virtual Showroom or Shop Chairity. Proceeds from Shop Chairity & Chairity, our annual multi-day designer home showcase, are invested in expanding & sustaining outreach efforts.

Not to mention, everything is fueled entirely by community-driven upcycling — meaning our efforts have a huge impact, without leaving a huge environmental imprint.

“AMAZING organization! I’ve interacted with 5 team members — they’re all so kind and very on top of things. I scheduled a pick-up for a couple of items and it was a really positive experience and such a good cause. I’d highly recommend donating your furniture here. :)”
