Our 1000th family served! Meet Antoinette and her family...
Video by 12x12 Initiative
Antoinette, a mother of four, was widowed, later lost her job and then her home and all of their belongings. The family was forced to move into a motel room where they lived until she was able to secure another job and sustainable housing. While her job paid for food and rent, she had nothing left for furnishing her home with the items it had taken years to accrue. After coming to The Green Chair Project with her case manager and three of her four children, she was able to obtain the furnishings needed to make her three-bedroom apartment into a home for her family.
Antoinette was referred by Triangle Family Services. She also benefited from the services of StepUp and Passage Home - a real testament to our partnership with the community’s services that have helped her and her children overcome homelessness and now enjoy a comfortable, safe and well-equipped home.
“My kids and I love our new home. The experience at The Green Chair Project was so great and the kids absolutely loved it. They enjoyed picking out furniture for our home. Everyone at Green Chair made us feel so important.”- Antoinette
